Privacy Policy
This policy explains what JetDesk.AI ("JetDesk", "we", "us") collects when you use the JetDesk application and website at www.jetdesk.ai (the "Service"), what we do with it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what the product needs to work, we do not run ads, we do not sell personal data, your location never leaves your device, and you can delete your account and its data yourself at any time.
01What we collect
Account information. When you create an account: your email address, the name you choose to give, and a password we store only as a salted, iterated hash, never in plain text. Optionally, the aircraft and operation details you add to your profile: tail number, home base and operation name.
Content you enter. Trips and their legs, fuel prices and the FBO they belong to, FBO details (crew cars, fees, notes), airport notes, and app settings such as your aircraft's speeds and burn rates.
Subscription status. Whether your account is free, trialing or Pro, the renewal interval, and identifiers our payment processor Stripe assigns (a customer id and subscription id). We never receive or store your card number. Payment details go directly to Stripe; its handling of them is described in Stripe's own privacy policy.
Technical basics. Like almost every web service, our infrastructure sees IP addresses and standard request metadata when your device talks to our servers, and we keep short lived counters based on IP address and account id for rate limiting and abuse prevention. We do not build profiles from this and we run no advertising or third party analytics trackers.
Email you send us. If you write to hello@jetdesk.ai we keep the correspondence so we can help you.
02How we use it
- To run the Service: authenticate you, sync your trips, prices and notes across devices, share crew data with your workspace, and compute the results the app shows you.
- To bill Pro subscriptions through Stripe and reflect your plan in the app.
- To send transactional email: verification codes, a welcome note, and important account or service notices. We do not send marketing email without your consent.
- To keep the Service safe: rate limiting, abuse prevention and debugging.
- To answer you when you contact us.
We do not sell personal data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use your data to train AI models.
03Location stays on your device
The Near Me feature asks your device for its position so it can sort nearby airports. That lookup runs entirely on your device against the airport database the app already carries. Your coordinates are never sent to our servers and are never stored by us. If you deny the location permission, everything else keeps working.
04Data stored on your device
JetDesk is an offline capable app. Your device keeps a local copy of the airport and runway database, your settings, trips, prices and notes, plus your session token, in browser storage, so the app works without coverage. Signing out or deleting the app's site data from your browser clears this local copy. On a shared device, sign out when you are done.
05Crew sharing
If you join or create a crew workspace, the fuel prices, FBO information, trips and notes in that workspace are shared with its members (up to 10 people). Members see the content itself; they do not see your password, email verification state or billing details. Content you contributed may remain with the workspace if you leave it or delete your account, the same way an email you sent stays with its recipients.
06Community fuel prices
Community price sharing is off unless you turn it on in the Account tab. While it is on, each Jet A price your workspace logs is also written to a shared pool as four fields: the airport code, the price, the date, and an opaque workspace id. No name, no email, no tail number and no trip information goes with it.
Other customers never see your rows individually. The app reads the pool only as a median across workspaces, and only for an airport where at least two different workspaces have logged a price in the last 60 days, so a single workspace's price is never shown back to anyone. Reading the pool requires sharing into it.
Turning sharing off stops new prices going to the pool. Rows already contributed stay in it, anonymized, the same way crew content stays with a workspace you leave. Write to hello@jetdesk.ai if you want your workspace's contributed rows removed and we will delete them.
07Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run the Service, each receiving only what its job requires:
| Provider | Job | What it processes |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosting, storage, networking and email delivery for the Service (Pages, Workers, D1, KV, Email Routing and Email Service) | All Service data and traffic, stored primarily in the United States |
| Stripe | Payments, subscriptions, tax and receipts | Your email, payment details you give Stripe directly, and subscription state |
| FAA / NOAA Aviation Weather Center | Public weather and winds data | Nothing about you. Our server requests weather by airport code, not by your identity or location |
| U.S. EIA and OilPriceAPI | Public market fuel reference data | Nothing about you |
We disclose personal data beyond this only if required by law or legal process, to protect the rights, safety or property of users or the public, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets (in which case this policy continues to apply to data collected under it).
08Cookies and tracking
We set no advertising or analytics cookies and load no third party trackers, fonts, scripts or beacons: every asset the app loads comes from our own domain. The app keeps your session token and app data in browser storage as described above. Our infrastructure provider, Cloudflare, may set strictly operational cookies for security and bot mitigation on our domain.
09Retention and deletion
We keep account data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account yourself in the app under Account, which permanently removes your profile, credentials, sessions and personal data from our production database; content you contributed to a shared crew workspace may remain with that workspace. Rate limit counters expire automatically within hours. Operational logs and backups roll off on short cycles. Email correspondence is kept as long as useful for support. If you cannot access the app, email hello@jetdesk.ai from your account address and we will delete the account for you.
10Security
All traffic to the Service is encrypted with TLS, with HSTS enforced. Passwords are stored only as salted, iterated hashes with a server side secret. Sessions are bearer tokens stored hashed on the server and expiring automatically. Sign in, sign up and verification attempts are rate limited. Payment card data never touches our servers. No system is perfectly secure, so if we learn of a breach affecting your personal data we will notify you as the law requires. Security reports are welcome at hello@jetdesk.ai.
11Your rights and choices
- Access and portability. Your trips, prices and notes are visible in the app, and the backup tool in Settings exports your data as text you can keep.
- Correction. Profile fields are editable in the app; anything else, ask us.
- Deletion. Delete your account in the app, or ask us by email.
- Marketing. We send none without consent, so there is nothing to opt out of today.
- Do Not Track and similar signals. We do not track you across other sites, so these signals change nothing here.
Residents of California and other U.S. states with privacy laws: we do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it, and we honor the rights those laws give you (access, deletion, correction, non discrimination) through the tools above. We will not treat you differently for exercising them.
12Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, tell us and we will delete it.
13International visitors
The Service is operated from the United States and data is stored primarily on infrastructure there. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., you understand your data is processed in the U.S. For visitors from the EEA, UK or Switzerland: we process personal data to perform our contract with you (running the Service), for our legitimate interests in securing and improving it, and with your consent where required; the rights described above (access, correction, deletion, portability, objection) are available to you, and you may also complain to your local supervisory authority.
14Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the effective date at the top, and for material changes we will give notice in the app or by email before they take effect. The current version always lives at www.jetdesk.ai/privacy.
